PETALING JAYA: Unisem (M) Bhd is keeping to a positive outlook despite the economic and geopolitical uncertainties, interest rate concerns and global supply chain disruptions.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group reported a leap in earnings and revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2022, and said its performance for the coming quarter is expected to be satisfactory.

For the recent past quarter ended June 30, the semiconductor provider’s net profit almost quadrupled to RM205.9mil while revenue increased 15.4% year-on-year to RM464.06mil.

On a per share basis, Unisem’s earnings rose to 12.76 sen in the current quarter.

Over the six months period ended June 30, the group’s net profit more than doubled to RM256.55mil while its revenue grew 14.47% to RM888.51mil.

The board of directors announced an interim dividend of two sen per share for the current quarter, payable on Aug 25, 2022.
